07 April 1944

 R.C.A.F. Funtingten, Essex, England

Lecture this morning by Capt. Art Woodhouse on Army Organization. It was mostly a discussion with pilots asking questions. F/O Ross & P/O Bernhart left today on leave. All leave & 48 hr passes, other than aircrew have been cancelled, apparently for security reasons.

The C.O. flew over to Ford this afternoon in Hurricane "Z". F/O's Burgess & Elfner flew up to Odiham & from there went into Basingstake to see F/O Andy (A.C..) Clarke. His condition is still very serious, and the doctor wouldn't make any statement as to his outcome. F/O Leigh ferried Typhoon "P" EK-194 to Redhill. F/O Laycock flew up in the Auster to pick him up. They did not return today, but should be back tomorrow.

Five of our pilots have been posted to the pool at Redhill. They are : F/O J. Kalen (J21856), F/O E.J. Allen (J20587), F/O C.C. Leigh (J22279), F/O N.H. Rassenti (J22462).

F/O A.C. Clarke (J22005) has been posted to 143 Airfield Hqts.
