This Day In History Summary of Events for No. 439 (CAN) Squadron as recorded in the 439 Squadron Operations Record Book for 07 December 1944 B-78 Holland Rain in the morning , light spasmodic shower in the afternoon and a deluge at night! F/O V.H.J. Le gear and F/O . Angelini went to England by air this morning to pick up some new Typhoons to boost up the Wing total. No flying was on the day's program due to the precipitation so we worked on the pilot's new crew room for most of the day except for a short while after lunch when S/L Evans, MS and Bar of Air Ministry M.I.9 gave a lecture to all pilots in the Officer's Mess on escape and evasion.
