Heavy cloud and heavy ground haze prevailed throughout the day except for a short break in the cloud after lunch. We also experienced a good frost this morning, the first since the Squadron left England. One weather recce comprised the day's total of operations and the Squadron was released after the recce reported unfavourable weather.

Details of Sortie or Flight

F/O Bernhart with F/O Hiltz as number two, took-off to do a weather recce over the target area. They set course for Coesfeld, Germany, which was in the target area. there was a bad mist and haze which limited visibility to a mile and across the Rhine, there was a large layer of cloud. They returned to base and reported the weather unfavourable for operations.
