Summary of Events for  No. 439 (CAN) Squadron 

as recorded in the  439 Squadron Operations Record Book

for

15 January 1944

 Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland

C.A.V.U (Clear Air Visibility Unlimited) and seven aircraft serviceable that allowed all pilots with previous Hurricane time to get away on their No. 1 Sector Reconnaissance. Some of the landings were fairly rough but for the most part everything went very well. F/O Thomas admitted to the hospital with a severe cold. It was decided to check pilots with no previous Hurricane time, out on Miles Master the first good day.
