Cloudy in the morning with a strong wind. The weather improved in the afternoon but the wind was consistent. The morning saw some formation practice but the afternoon was absorbed by the pilots in Southampton where they viewed landing assault craft and ships on which they received brief talks from Naval Officers. At 1700 hrs. the remaining pilots jeeped down to RAF Station Hurn where Air Chief Marshal Sir Trafford Leigh Mallory, KGB, DSO, gave the boys a pep talk. S/L Norsworthy assumed the role of scrounger in his attempts to fix up the Officers Mess.
