Summary of Events for  No. 439 (CAN) Squadron 

as recorded in the  439 Squadron Operations Record Book

for

10 January 1944

 Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland

F/L Cairns and Senior N.C.O.'s organized dispersal for efficient operation of Squadron. Aircraft will be left at dispersal at all times except for any major repairs or for any inspections other then Daily or 20 hour. Major inspections and repairs will be done in a hangar allotted to the Squadron where most of our crews will be. It was decided to keep a complete skeleton crew at the dispersal. Parachute Riggers, Equipment Assistants and drivers of the Squadron were turned over to S.H.Q. Ayr for employment. F/S Malo R. appointed as C.E.O (Chief Engineering Officer) of Squadron until such time as one is posted to us. Pilots of this Squadron together with pilots of 438 met with W/C Marples who is to be our Wing Commander. S/L's Smith and Kelly arrived from Wellingore.
